WPSA-BB Hosts International Technical Seminar Aimed at Globally Competitive Poultry Production

Afzal Hossain, Dhaka, October 3, 2026: The World’s Poultry Science Association–Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB) organized the 'International Technical Seminar 2026' with the aim of making Bangladesh's poultry industry more resilient, sustainable, and capable of competing globally. The seminar took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, Dhaka. Held under the theme "Resilient Poultry Production for Global Competitiveness," the seminar addressed various issues, including current challenges in the poultry sector, production economics, productivity, food security, sustainable production, regulatory compliance, and Bangladesh's potential in the global market.

নিরাপদ, টেকসই ও আধুনিক ব্রয়লার উৎপাদন ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তোলার লক্ষ্যে খুলনায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে “খুলনা বিভাগীয় কর্মশালা”। ওয়ার্ল্ড’স পোল্ট্রি সায়েন্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন—বাংলাদেশ শাখা (WPSA-BB) আয়োজিত এ কর্মশালায় ব্রয়লার খামারে সঠিক পুষ্টি ও ব্যবস্থাপনা, স্বাস্থ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা, অ্যান্টিবায়োটিকমুক্ত মাংস উৎপাদন এবং আধুনিক খামার ব্যবস্থাপনার বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিক নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়।
শনিবার (১৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) খুলনার সোনাডাঙ্গায় হোটেল গ্র্যান্ড খুলনা-এ দিনব্যাপী এ কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। কর্মশালায় পোল্ট্রি খাতের উদ্যোক্তা, খামারি, বিশেষজ্ঞ, শিক্ষাবিদ, সরকারি কর্মকর্তা এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট পেশাজীবীরা অংশ নেন।

Phileo by Lesaffre, in collaboration with Planet Pharma, organised an exclusive technical session in Dhaka focusing on strategies to enhance poultry productivity and performance amid the growing challenges facing the industry.
Titled “Performance Under Pressure: Maximizing Productivity in Turbulent Times,” the technical session was held on September 14, 2026, at the Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka. The programme brought together poultry industry professionals and stakeholders to explore emerging global industry trends and practical approaches related to immunity, performance, and gut health.

ভুট্টা ও ফিড তৈরির কাঁচামালের বাজারে অস্থিরতা
* কারসাজি, মজুতদারি ও কৃত্রিম সংকটের অভিযোগ-চরম চাপের মুখে পোল্ট্রি, ডেইরি ও মৎস্য শিল্প।
* কাঁচামালের দামে লাগামহীন ওঠানামা। বাড়ছে ফিডের উৎপাদন ব্যয়। শঙ্কায় খামারি ও উদ্যোক্তারা।
* সাম্প্রতিক তথ্য অনুযায়ী, বাংলাদেশ এখনো ফিডের ভুট্টার বড় অংশ আমদানি নির্ভর; ২০২৬ সালের জানুয়ারিতে ৫৭,৮৫৫ টন মার্কিন ভুট্টাও দেশে এসেছে এবং আমদানিকারকদের হিসাবে দেশের ভুট্টার চাহিদার প্রায় ৭০% আমদানির মাধ্যমে পূরণ হয়। সূত্র: The Daily Star
