The Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC), in collaboration with the U.S. Grains & Bioproducts Council (USGBC), successfully organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) seminar titled "Good Aquaculture Practices and Efficient Feed Management" on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The event was held at the BPICC Conference Hall, Bashundhara Rupayan Shopping Mall, Dhaka.
The seminar aimed to strengthen the technical knowledge and professional capacity of aquaculture and feed industry professionals by promoting sustainable aquaculture practices and efficient feed management strategies.
The inaugural session was addressed by Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Convener of BPICC and Managing Director of Paragon Poultry, who emphasized the importance of adopting modern aquaculture technologies, maintaining quality standards, and enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors to ensure the sustainable growth of Bangladesh's fisheries and livestock industries.
The inaugural session was delivered also by Ms. Erin Covert, Agricultural Attaché, U.S. Embassy, Dhaka.
Mahe Alam Sorwar, Consultant-Bangladesh, who highlighted opportunities for strengthening Bangladesh's aquaculture sector through improved nutrition, feed efficiency, and international cooperation. He also hosted the event.
Among the distinguished speakers were Md. Sirajul Haque, Senior Vice President, and Mohammad Fayzur Rahman (Fayez), General Secretary of the World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA-BB), Bangladesh Branch, who shared their perspectives on the importance of technical training and knowledge exchange for the continued development of the country's aquaculture and poultry industries.
The training program featured three renowned fish nutritionists or fish consultants from around the country providing training on three different topics.
First discussed Dr. Mohammad Abdul Baten Bhuyain, phD Doc Fellow. He discussec on " Pond Preparation & Stocking Management". Then he discussed on " Water Quality monitoring & corrective actions". Finally he discussed on "Fish Health, Disease recognition & Farm bio security".
After Lunch, discussed on the semina Mr. Aung Tun Aye, Consultant (Aquaculture, Aquatic Animal Nutrition & Quality Assurance), Founder of Agro Solution. He discussed on " Feed & nutrition fundamentals for commercial advisory".
Last speaker was Md. Zahidul Islam, Chief Operating Officer of Bangla-UK Agro Products Ltd. He discussed on " Training delivery skill & farmer engagement (ToT Specialist)
The trainers shared practical knowledge on Good Aquaculture Practices (GAP), aquatic animal nutrition, quality assurance, and efficient feed management to improve productivity, sustainability, and profitability in Bangladesh's aquaculture sector.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion, reaffirming the commitment of BPICC and the U.S. Grains & Bioproducts Council to support capacity building, technology transfer, and sustainable development in Bangladesh's aquaculture industry through continued technical collaboration and professional training initiatives.
