The Kolkata International Poultry Fair 2025 has recently wrapped up with outstanding success

The 11th International Poultry Fair 2025 was held from February 12 to February 14, 2025, at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre located in Newtown, Rajarhat, Kolkata, The Fair was organized by the Animal Resources Development Department of the Government of West Bengal in collaboration with the West Bengal Poultry Federation, the leading representative body for poultry stakeholders in the region.

Over the past decade, the fair has attracted considerable support and participation from both national and international industry leaders. The event commenced on February 11, 2025, operating from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and featured a Technical Seminar titled NOVACON (Conference on Innovation), designed specifically for industry professionals and researchers. A highlight of the seminar was an enlightening presentation by Ms. Laura Macio, co-founder and CEO of metaBix Biotech from Latin America, focusing on the impact of Artificial Intelligence in poultry operations. Furthermore, Dr. T. Dos Santos, Global Technical and Marketing Director at AB Vista, provided valuable insights into Brazilian poultry, emphasizing Brazil's position as the second-largest chicken meat producer and the leading exporter worldwide. The seminar also included an engaging lecture on Molecular Diagnostics for poultry diseases by Dr. S. Lamiere, Head of Global Technical Services (Avian) at Boehringer Ingelheim, USA, along with a discussion on Hatchery Vaccination led by Dr. P. Y. Fun, Poultry Business Director for MSD in the APSA region, showcasing MSD's global expertise in poultry healthcare solutions.


The exhibition opened for visitors from February 12 to February 14, 2025, maintaining the same hours and generated significant excitement within the poultry farming and input sectors, featuring approximately 100 stalls from various companies. Several prominent Indian companies, including Shalimar Feed, Sen Feed, and Bhandari Feed, showcased their offerings with large stalls at the event. The multinational corporation Japfa Feed also featured a significant presence. In addition to the feed sector, companies with supplements such as Intas, Alembic, Virbac, Alivira, Vesper Group, Cargill, a reputable multinational corporation thatsells feed and additives, attended the fair. 

At the expo, Hitech & KEGG Farms Pvt Ltd. displayed their hatchery inputs. KEGG FARMS in India started a genetic breeding program for poultry to develop breeds that thrive in the Indian climate.This initiative commenced with the importing of high-quality germplasm from Parks Poultry Farm in the United States. Recently, the company showcased a new breed, Saurangi, at a fair, where a live bird was presented.


Along with a range of equipment, the show focused on innovations in poultry farming, feed additives, feed technologies, and cutting-edge animal healthcare solutions. Farmers,
suppliers, and industry professionals were able to discuss trends, obstacles, and possibilities in the ever changing poultry  market at this Kolkata poultry exhibition.It was an excellent occasion to reconnect with familiar faces in poultry healthcare and to establish new industry connections. As anticipated, chicken dishes were served for lunch, much to the delight of attendees. The accompanying images capture the enjoyment shared by all participants throughout the day.
