WPSA-BB organized an International Technical Seminar on “Cost Effective and Sustainable Poultry Production” at Radisson Hotel, Dhaka.

September 28-2024, World’s Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh Branch (WPSA –BB) organized an International Technical Seminar on “Sustainable Poultry Production” in a packed gathering at Hotel Radisson Blu, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Ms. Farida Akhter, honorable adviser, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, was present as the Chief Guest & inaugurate on the occasion. Internationally renowned poultry experts from home and abroad, proprietors of various prestigious institutions,

consultants, veterinarians, agriculturists, animal husbandry and poultry related people were also present in this international seminar after a long time.

After registration at 8:30 in the morning, welcome speech at the event,by Dr. Biplab Kumar Pramanik, Secretary, WPSA –BB. After that, Prof. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Convener, Technical Sub Committee spoke about ‘introduction the seminar objectives’. The keynote papers were presented in the seminar by honorable Mr. Shamsul Arefin Khaled, Member, WPSA  (EC). The topic of his keynote was: “Challenges & Opportunities of cost- effective sustainable poultry production”. Dr. Md. Reajul Haque, DG, DLS spoke as special guest on the program. Special guest Sayeed Mahmood Belal Haider, Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock,  also spoke on the occasion.

President of the seminar and president of WPSA-BB Mr. Moshiur Rahman gave a speech highlighting the importance of the seminar. After the tea break the main seminar started. A total of 4 papers were presented by the country's top poultry experts in two sessions.

Basically the 4 papers presented in the seminar are as follows:

1). National planning and monitoring for optimized poultry production.—Dr. ABM Khaleduzzaman, Direction (Production), DLS.
2). Cost effective feed formulation.-Dr. Amit Das, National Consultant.
3). Public-Private partnership in disease surveillance and contril—Prof. Nitish Chandra Debnath, Cheif of party, Bangladesh systems strengthening for one health.
4.) Development & Implementation of a national biosecurity program.—Prof. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Former Professor, BAU
