On June 20, 2023, at Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan, Dhaka, Agro Solution & Maverick Innovation has been organized A technical conference on “Building the Future: Applying Biotechnology in Golda Farming”
The country's elite fishermen, consultants, senior officials of various institutions and owners were present in the event.
Mr. Khondokar Mahbubul Haque , Director General of Fisheries Department was present as the chief guest in the event.
Albert Tacon - Founder & Owner - AquaHana LLC participated in the main discussion in the seminar,
besides, Mr. Giva Kuppusamy of GK AQUA SDN BH, a renowned aqua expert, joined virtually from Malaysia.

Welcome speech deliverd at the beginning of the program Mr. Aung Tun Aye, CEO, Agro Solution. He said, “Successful application of biotechnology will usher in new horizons of lobster (Golda) farming in the country.”
This seminar is very important to encourage lobster farming in the country and to make lobster safe and prosperous.
Then the opening speech or speech of the chief guest was given by Mr. Khondokar Mahbubul Haque, Director Generral, Department of Fisheres. He said, “ Now Aquaculture production is more than 25 milion metric tons. So requirement of feed to much, We need quality feed, Entrepreneurs or anyone who comes to us, we will provide all kinds of support. The government is on your side. Create good quality feed. We will export our products abroad.Ó
The chief guest of the event, Director General of Fisheries Department, Khandkar Mahbubul Haque, made a special request to the organizers to identify the problems raised by the visiting researchers and stakeholders and send them to the Department of Fisheries along with a recommendation. He said that he and his department will cooperate fully in this regard.
Then Mr. Amjad Hossain, Professor, BSMRAU spoke on the conference. He discusses on “Current Status of Freshwater Prawn Farming in Bangladesh – Issues and Challenges”.; Although there are 45 hatcheries in the country, all the hatcheries are not operational now. Researchers believe that the main reason for this is technical efficiency, skilled manpower and accurate information. Speakers said to focus more on Good Aquaculture Practice, Scientific Method, Water Supply.
The seminar was then discussed by Mr. Shohel Ibne Sattar, CEO, Aquagen, who shed light on the subject of “Why all-male Golda farming? A hatchery owners’ perspective.”
Dr M A Kabir Chowdhury, Maverick Innovation said, With broad knowledge in aquaculture production management and nutrition.
