মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ উপদেষ্টা ফরিদা আখতার বলেছেন, “কৃষিভিত্তিক উৎপাদন সম্প্রসারণের ফলে দেশে মাছের সরবরাহ বাড়লেও এর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে নতুন কিছু চ্যালেঞ্জও তৈরি হয়েছে, যার মধ্যে অন্যতম হলো খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা।” তিনি বলেন, “ফুড সেফটি নিশ্চিত না হলে মাছের উৎপাদন বাড়ানোর কোন অর্থ নেই। একুয়াকালচারে উৎপাদিত মাছ যদি নিরাপদ না হয়, তাহলে সেটিকে প্রকৃত অর্থে মাছ বলা যায় না—এই বিষয়টি আমাদের মাথায় রাখতে হবে।”
